I'm very much energised now after my 4 hours of nap. Hehe. I was SUPPOSED to limit myself to 1.5 hours, but it rained. Whats the link between rain & my nap time ? I shall enlighten all of you. You see.. Rain = Wind + Cold Weather, yes? Wind + Cold Weather = Blankie. Blankie = Bed. Bed = Sleep. See the link now? PLUS. Rain = Cannot run. Therefore, it gives me really good reason to sleep even longer.
Ok, anyways, I found my blogging inspiration like when I was on the bus home today. It was like an inspiration that came to my because I like overheard (or put it crudely, eavesdrop) a girl talking to her friend. Right, if you guys are observant enough, you should know like what I would want to address today. Re-read this paragraph if you like haven't got it.
BINGO. The topic today. "LIKE"
I was in the bus today, and there was like this girl who was sitting behind me. And she was like going "like...." all over the place. Every single sentence she breathed had "like" in it. Right, so we discuss about how versatile "like" is. I shall give instances of how "Like" can be used. Researched on the internet about it.
1) We can use like to say that we find a thing is good.
eg. I like Linda. (oh, I love Linda btw)
2) To replace "the same as" or "nearly the same as"
eg. Jiayi is like Jamie ( which a lot of people say so! )
3) To replace "the same way as"
eg. Hong Xi is skinny like a monkey.
4) In a question, to ask if the thing is good or bad, or asking someone to talk about it.
eg. How is Alina's house like?
5) Used in place of "for example"
eg. I would love to visit a country rich in history like China.
6) Slang in British & American English.
Key point. I have found myself immersing into the "like" world too. Yeah, I use a lot of "like"s in my sentences too. BUT, there is a limit to it. Over-usage becomes a nuisance. I hope I haven't become a nuisance.
Note: Anybody knows where in Singapore still sells Kinder Surprise let me know alright ! I heard from harn that you can actually still find it. Oh-my-Kinder-Surprise ! My cupboard has got a lot of Kinder Surprise toys. Ahhhh... My childhood memories. Any kind soul could do me the good deed to relish my childhood days.
